The Lady Panther tennis team was hampered by rainy weather all season, but finished the season on a good note, according to head coach Larry Morgan.

The regional tournament also was plagued by rain, but they managed to get their matches in between delays.

Junior Priya Patel, playing number one singles for the Lady Panthers upset Ariana Semones of Frankfort, 6-1, 6-1.

Devon Hill and Staci McArter defeated Molly Turner and Saskia Bruggerman of Bullitt East, 6-1, 6-1.  Those were the last wins Morgan’s team would see in the tournament however.

“With those two wins early in the day, we tied for first with other small schools though,” Morgan said.  “We ended the season 3-3, with six games and seven practices being rained out.”

The tennis teams will have their banquet June 2, at 6 p.m. at Hometown Pizza, Morgan said.
