The Lady Panthers 4x800 meter relay team — Nikki Hill, Sierra Martinez, Kirsten Arvin and Jenna Richmond — won first place with a time of 13:32.6 in the Henry County track meet April 17. Overall, the girls finished in sixth place, while the boys finished in seventh place.

Head coach Joe Creager said several players set new personal bests or season bests, despite not finishing as high as the team is used to seeing.

Richmond improved her 800 meter time by two seconds (2:55.3) in her bid to break the school record, while Cheyenne Long set a new personal record in the shot put and placed 5th in the event. The 4x100 meter relay team — Kirsten Arvin, Stevie Ogburn, Abby Miracle and Mallory Bickers — placed 5th and notched a new season-best time of 1:00.3.

For the Panthers, Devin Gray finished in third in the 800 and 1600 meter runs and shaved two seconds off of his personal best in the 1600 meter run in his goal of breaking the school record by state. Malachi Corbin improved his discus score by over 20 feet, scoring a throw of 32-11.00.
