A layup by Paige Black early in the fourth quarter sparked a shift in momentum that drove the Trimble County Lady Raiders to a 47-42 triumph over visiting Carroll County last Wednesday.
Carroll took control of the game early, fronting 13-8 at the first quarter stop and leading by nine, 26-17 at halftime. Trimble cut the margin to five by outpointing the Lady Panthers 14-10 in the third stanza and trailed 36-31 going into the final eight minutes of play. That’s when Black’s layup rattled the Lady Panthers and invigorated her teammates.
