Cartmell Elementary held a Literacy by Design Reading Night Dec. 2 to showcase the new county wide reading program. Parents and community were invited to view materials and student work from each grade. There was a drawing for a book gift basket and refreshments for all. The 4-H officers were junior hosts and hostesses assisting, serving and guiding guests through the building. The evening was a success and had one of the best turnouts to date. Cartmell is striving for excellence in reading and encourages the community of parents and friends to encourage our kids to read for the fun of it.
