Local banks unite to battle hunger

-A A +A

Local banks  are joining together to fight hunger with a friendly competition called “Banks Battle Against Hunger.”

Donations large or small are needed. They may be made to any local bank in Carrollton from Nov. 1-18.

These donations will be used to restock the Carroll County Food Pantry, run by the Carroll County Ministerial Association, which is comprised of several local churches. The pantry has been providing help for 27 years. This holiday season they will help feed 200-250 families with an average of three to four people in each family. The demand is getting greater and the supply is small. Since January they have had to use $6,000 from donations just to restock the pantry.

Please drop off goods and non-perishable items, especially soups, peanut butter, jelly and macaroni and cheese,  to one of the banks here in Carrollton from Nov. 1 through Nov. 18.

Please consider volunteering for this worthy cause. Volunteers  are always needed, especially now, to help the Carroll County Boy Scouts Scouting for Food drive which will be held Nov. 19.

The pantry is located at St. John’s Catholic Church on Fifth Street in Carrollton. For more information call St. John’s Church, (502) 732-5776.

Please help your bank win the Banks Battle Against Hunger by bringing your donation to them Nov. 1-18.
