Kentucky lawmakers who represent Carroll and surrounding counties anticipate a special session of the General Assembly will be held this month to adopt a state budget.
Last week in a letter to legislators, Gov. Steve Beshear reiterated that the General Assembly must pass a budget by June 1, or face a partial shutdown of state government. When legislators concluded their regular session on April 15, differences of opinion between the House and Senate over passing a biennial budget remained unresolved.
