Carrollton Police Department is leading a multi-county investigation for a man who robbed U.S. Bank, 416 Highland Ave., Friday.

At 11:25 a.m. June 6, a white male entered the bank, displayed a note demanding money, received the money and left, taking the note with him, Chief Mike Willhoite said Monday. CPD, along with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police responded to the area after being alerted by a 911 call, to search for the suspect, while Carrollton Police Officer Tim Gividen secured the bank, he said.

Police were able to pull a detailed photo of the man off the bank security camera. “This is definitely a good enough quality picture that someone should be able to identify him,” Willhoite said.

Willhoite described the man as being possibly in his mid-30’s, thin- to medium-build and about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches. He wears glasses and has a close-cropped, dark beard and either a shaved or bald head.

Carrollton Police are working with law enforcement agencies in the area – including Louisville, Lexington and Oldham County – as this robbery may be connected to others in the region, Willhoite said.

Willhoite said he is requesting anyone with information to call Carrollton Police Department at (502) 732-6621. The police have received some leads in the case and are checking all of them, he said.
