Work is underway on a Hwy. 36 bridge replacement project at Locust Creek. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials closed the bridge Monday, March 11, and instituted detours that will last for the next 90 days, weather permitting. The closure is needed for a bridge replacement project over Locust Creek. A signed detour is in place on U.S. 42 and U.S. 421 to Hwy. 36 for larger vehicles and semis. For local traffic, Judge-Executive Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson suggested taking Locust Road from Hwy. 36 to West Prong Locust and across to Hunters Heights Road, then back to Hwy. 36, shown on the map. The closure will remain in place until June 8, 2013.
