Mayor thanks all those involved in city cleanup

-A A +A

Editor:

I wish to thank the Rumpke Family and the employees of Rumpke Waste Management for co-sponsoring the first annual Carrollton Cleanup Day. I also want to thank Mike Humphrey, Jailer, and the inmates for their assistance as well as the Carrollton Public Works employees.

Even though not as many citizens took advantage of the opportunity to discard unwanted articles as I had hoped for, there was enough participation to merit another day next year.

Also, anyone wishing to begin recycling eligible materials can obtain a recycling bin from the public works office at 304 Sycamore Street or by calling the mayor’s office at 732-7051. We also have plastic bags for mattresses as well as for sofas and chairs. Rumpke will not pick these items up if they are not in plastic bags.

Again thanks to all who made this day successful and the citizens who took advantage of this opportunity to help keep Carrollton an environmentally friendly community.

Gene McMurry

Mayor
