Meal ministry proves to be a blessing

On June 27, we had our third End-of-the-Month Meal Ministry from noon to 1 p.m. at Carrollton Christian Church at 310 Fifth St., in Carrolton, Ky.

The purpose of this ministry is to provide a home cooked meal to an individual or family that is not able to provide for themselves for whatever circumstance and free of charge. The response was wonderful. We did have 33 visitors to this meal and we were very excited to be able to feed them. The weather was wonderful, the fellowship was spectacular and the people that came and ate with us were blessings.

I want to thank Phil Heiskell, a friend of Dr. Bob Brocious, who donated 40 pounds of hamburger, Coopers Restaurant for food items, and many members from Carrollton Christian Church who contributed food, paper products and money for this ministry.

I am so proud of the generous and giving people that we have in this community. We could not have done this without the gracious people who cooked, prepared, served, greeted and cleaned up afterwards.

I would like to let you know that we will be having another meal on Saturday, July 25 at the Carrollton Christian Church from noon until 1 p.m. We welcome anyone who would like to donate foods, paper products or their time to this Meal Ministry.

If so, you are welcome to call the Carrollton Christian Church at (502) 732-5708 or Bett Taylor at (502) 525-2757. Please know that if I have not called upon you before now, that I will come and visit with you prior to July 25. If I fail to bring you a flyer, please feel free to call me.

Several area people have expressed an interest in this project and we are hoping to make this a community project. I hope that you, as a Carroll County resident, would come and experience this. You just might be surprised at what a day like this will do for your week or your month or even your year.

If you or your family are in need of a home-cooked meal, please know that we welcome you to join us on Saturday, July 25. If you know of someone who is in need as well, will you please invite them and perhaps bring them with you. We will be excited to meet you and share this time with you.
