The merchants of the Butler Mall — El Nopal, Cellular Connection, American Rental and Carrollton Federal Bank — held a block party Sept. 24. The event was held in order to sincerely exhibit appreciation to customers and the community for their continued support. More than 250 people attended the event. The participants received free food and gift bags containing various practical items. In addition, an inflatable was provided for the children’s enjoyment. RiverView Farmers Market participants were attended with pumpkins provided by Mike Lewis, hormone free beef provided by Humphrey Farms, honey jams and jellies provided by Bobby Giles, and Frances Wyman provided face painting service and original artifacts. Tammy Crawford with the Carroll County Animal Support provided pet adoption services.
The seminar concluded with several drawings: Bill Mahoney-$10;, El Nopal gift certificate; Robert Smith, $15 El Nopal gift certificate; Tiffany Hearn, $20 El Nopal gift certificate; John Pyles, Steelers corn hole boards; Eric Hewitt, Bengals corn hole boards; Mary Corley, camp chair; Charles Hunt, set of camp chairs; and Joan Young, large basket of giveaways.
