New expo focuses on youth programs

-A A +A

Carroll County is at a pivotal point in our history. We have more possible growth and potential than ever. However, that growth and potential will never be realized unless we act now to help tomorrow’s generation.

Drugs, abuse and simple apathy threaten the success of our county. It has become evident to me that in order to make our community everything that it can be, it is going to take a community-wide effort.

Our community has many possible great programs and services to offer our youth and children that many people do not even know about. With those programs and services come several opportunities for people to become involved in the lives of our youth.

This is why the Carroll County Attorney’s Office has decided to host the first ever Carroll County Children and Youth Expo Monday, April 16 from 5-8 p.m. at Cartmell Elementary.

There will be numerous booths set up to highlight the programs and services available to youth and children in Carroll County. Also, we will be having seminars on such issues as helping your child deal with ADD/ADHD, recognizing drug usage in children and youth, using the new child support self-service portal and truancy.

If you have a child that you may think needs services or if you are an adult wanting to find a place to get involved, this is the event for you.

We will have free giveaways, bouncers for the kids and a whole lot of information. Come out and see how you can make a difference today for the generation of tomorrow.
