One man was injured after a motorcycle accident Tuesday, July 22, on Kings Ridge Road in Carroll County.

Timothy Besselman, 40, of Carroll County was traveling northbound on Kings Ridge Road when a deer allegedly ran out in front of his motorcycle, causing him to swerve and lose control of the vehicle, according to Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman. Besselman hit a guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle on to the roadway. The motorcycle was recovered down over a hill, Kinman said.

When emergency personnel arrived, Besselman had compound fractures to both arms and his right leg and was in and out of consciousness, Kinman said.

Carroll County EMS, Kentucky State Police, Carroll County Rescue Squad and the Westside Volunteer Fire Department assisted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

Besselman was transported by Air Methods to University of Louisville Hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.
