The City of Prestonville approved a pay increase for city officials at a special meeting April 28. Commissioners present unanimously passed the ordinance. Commissioner Charles Smith was not present for the meeting.
The Prestonville mayor will earn $175 per month and commissioners will earn $125 per month. City Attorney Corey Gamm said the raise will be effective Jan. 1. Commissioner Linda Clark, who first introduced the ordinance, hopes the raise will generate more interest in the positions. The mayor and commissioner positions will be up for election in November.
