PRP takes Carroll tourney title, Lady Panthers finish in third

Carroll County won three of five games while hosting Saturday’s Carroll County Invitational Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Panthers defeated Grant County 25-11, 22-25 and 25-21 in their opening tournament appearance to advance to second round play in the winners’ bracket of the double elimination tourney.

Carroll fell to Pleasure Ridge Park in game four by scores of 25-23 and 25-21. In game six the Lady Panthers topped Ludlow 25-19 and 25-23. They met Grant again in game eight winning in three sets 21-25, 25-22 and 25-10.

The Lady Panthers met Trimble County in game nine-each with a loss to PRP behind them-to play for the right to get into the championship game. The two teams battled hard with the Lady Raiders edging Carroll 27-26 and closing the Lady Panthers’ hopes with a 25-14 in the second matchup.

PRP defeated Trimble 25-15, 20-25 and 25-15 to take home the championship. Carroll County finished third followed by Grant County, Ludlow and Gallatin County in that order.
