Reader thanks community for help after fire

I’ve lived in the city limits of Ghent for a little over three years, and I’ve made quite a few complaints against the city in that period of time. However, this editorial is of a different nature.

Less than two weeks before Christmas our house burned, and several people came to our aid. We greatly appreciate the help that was given us. I want to thank all who gave money, food, clothing and shelter. Thanks a million!

After several weeks of living with generous family members, we have now found a new home that fits our family’s needs better than the original house. 

Thank you to all who helped us in our time of need.
