Repenting before God can help with achieving goals in the new year ahead

We are leaving this year of 2012 behind and I wonder: Have we achieved the goals we set for ourselves? Did we overcome certain family troubles? Do we have a better job? Is our family better socially, economically and spiritually? Do we feel proud of our children?

Perhaps we are asking ourselves many more questions – how many goals that we set for ourselves this year have we achieved and are we the same or worse than the year before.

It is time to consider improving our ways, but the main wish that should be in our hearts is to consider God in our lives. God wants to give us the best, but we are not interested in putting God first in our lives.

We believe in God, but only when we are in big trouble we ask him to help us do what we cannot.

The truth is that God wants to guide our walk in this world, but we need to realize that we are completely lost without him. We must repent and ask forgiveness for our sins. God says in his word that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23). Then invite our Lord Jesus Christ by faith into our hearts to take control of our lives (Romans 10:9).

If God is in our life, he will make us achieve better things for us. It will no longer be just another year, but it will be a year with many blessings, a year in which we will see the wonders of God.

Because God always wants to give us the best, and although we will have difficult moments, God will be there to show us his power and his mercy.

OTRO AÑO QUE SE NOS VA….

Este año 2012 ya se nos va y yo me pregunto: ¿hemos logrado las metas que nos propusimos? ¿Hemos superado ciertos problemas familiares? ¿Tenemos un mejor trabajo? ¿Nuestra familia esta mejor socialmente, económicamente y espiritualmente? ¿Nos sentimos orgullosos de nuestros hijos? Quizás hay muchas más preguntas que nos estamos haciendo que nos hemos propuesto, muchas metas para este año que paso y evaluemos si lo hemos logrado, o seguimos igual o quizás estamos peor que al año anterior.

Es hora de considerar mejorar nuestros caminos, pero el principal deseo que debe haber en nuestras corazones es considerar a Dios en nuestras vidas, Dios quiere darnos lo mejor, pero nosotros no estamos interesados en poner a Dios en primer lugar en nuestra vida. Siempre pensamos en Dios, pero cuando estamos en tremendo problemas y ahora si queremos que Dios nos ayude a lograr lo que no podemos nosotros.

La verdad es que Dios quiere guiar nuestro andar en este mundo, pero necesitamos reconocer que estamos completamente perdidos sin Dios. Necesitamos arrepentirnos y pedirle perdón por nuestros pecados. Dios dice en su Palabra que todos somos pecadores (Romanos 3:23) luego por fe invitemos que nuestro Señor Jesucristo entre a nuestros corazones para que tome el control de nuestra vida (Romanos 10:9).

Si Dios esta en nuestra vida, El lo dirigirá a lograr mejores cosas para nosotros y ya no será otro año más, sino será un año de muchas bendiciones, un año en el cual veremos las maravillas de Dios. Porque Dios siempre quiere darnos lo mejor, aunque pasemos momentos difíciles, allí Dios nos mostrará su poder y nos mostrará su misericordia y poder de Dios.
