Robbin Powell sworn in as city clerk

District 3 Magistrate Mark Bates gives the oath of office to Robbin Powell during a Ghent City Commission meeting Tuesday, Aug. 24. Powell was hired to replace Bulinda Willis as city clerk. Willis resigned in July after 12 years in that position. In accordance with state regulations, Powell swore she would uphold her duties as an employee of the city of Ghent and never participate – in any way – in a duel.
