Rotary golf scramble supports scholarships

Carrollton Rotary Club’s 10th annual Scholarship Golf Scramble will host two flights of teams Wednesday, Sept. 14, at General Butler State Resort Park golf course.

The event, sponsored by Irving Materials Inc., raises funds for college scholarships that the club awards to graduating Carroll County seniors. Last year $9,000, the club awarded in scholarships.

Six-person teams are invited to play for $450 with 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. tee times. Complimentary lunch will be prepared by Rotarian Barry Cook.

A hole-in-one prize of $10,000 is being offered by Easy Pro Property Management Services as well as other prizes of gift certificates, golf clubs and a TV. These will be awarded during a silent auction and a raffle.

Non-golfers may participate by donating to the silent auction and raffle, paying for hole sponsorships from $100, or by making tax-deductible donations payable to Carrollton Rotary Club, P.O. Box 631, Carrollton, KY 41008.

The Carrollton Rotary Club is part of Rotary International with 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs all over the world. The Carrollton club meets at noon Wednesdays at General Butler State Resort Park Lodge. Everyone is invited to attend.
