The Comprehensive District Improvement Plan, used to guide the district in its efforts to continue improvement at the county’s schools, will be available at the Carroll County Board of Education Central Office, 813 Hawkins St. in Carrollton, Nov. 8-17 for anyone to observe and make comments.
The plan will be available on-line at www.carroll.kyschools.us during that time as well, according to Elementary Instructional Supervisor Pam Williams. Those without Internet access may use the computers at the Carroll County Public Library, 136 Court St., in Carrollton.
Williams encourages all Carroll County residents to look over this document and submit any comments or questions regarding the plan to the Carroll County Board of Education or Superintendent Lisa James at 732-7070 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Williams can also be contacted at email@example.com.
Williams said school and district leaders have been reviewing the previous plan and checking to see what areas have implemented and what areas need further refinement. The three major areas the district addresses include academic achievement, learning barriers, and leadership.
James said that in process of devising the improvement plan, the district planners review a wide range of data in each of the areas, including results of the Kentucky Core Content Test, behavioral and attendance records, and staff surveys regarding professional development needs.
“As we make our plans for the future, we want to make sure our students are career, college, and citizenship ready,” said James.
The Carroll County Board of Education will consider the plan for approval at its Nov. 18 meeting.
