Recently, the Carrollton Police Department and Carroll County Detention Center have been conducting our fund-raisers in an effort to raise money for our annual Shop With A Cop Program.

This upcoming Christmas will be our eighth straight year for holding the event. Over the past seven years. we have assisted 432 children in the community and have spent $85,605 to ensure that they have an enjoyable Christmas.

The success of this annual event would not be possible without the support of our local businesses and individuals. They are truly what makes this program possible

During our recent Trail Ride, the following graciously donated to our event: Craig’s Rental Center, Glauber’s Sports, Kentucky Speedway, Earl Floyd Ford, Kinman Chevrolet, VF Outlet, Toole and Rose, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Travis Leap Contracting and Bruce Pollock. To the Glauber, Robertson, Baumgardner, Hartman, Buchanan and Maiden families, thank you for allowing us the use of your land for the ride. And thank you to Charlie Maiden for organizing the ride. This fundraiser added $1,177 to our program.

The Point Park River Run in August donated $555 to us.

On Oct. 26, we are hosting a new event. This will be our first Poker Run, which we hope will be annual. Anyone with any questions about this event can contact Pat McGlennen at (502) 773-7553, April McClellen at (502) 732-7041 or myself at (502) 732-6621.

Once again, we wish to thank the many businesses and individuals that donate prizes, money or time to our efforts. Without you, the success of this event would not be possible.
