SNIP clinic to return to Carroll County

-A A +A

Editor:
I want to take this time to let the community know that Carroll Co Animal Support will be starting our low cost spay/neuter clinics back up this month.
This year, we are changing the way we will register clients for the clinic. We will be at the county library on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. until noon and Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. registering everyone. We will also require a deposit on that day. Last year, we had several people to sign up and then not show up.
According to the rules set forth by Kentucky Humane Society SNIP Clinic, we have to have a minimum of 15 animals, for every one that we are short we (CCAS) will be charged a fee. We cannot afford this, so that is why we will be charging a deposit. The amount will be half of the cost for your animal.
If you do not show or cancel at the last minute then you will automatically forfeit your deposit and it will be considered a donation to CCAS. If by chance we do not have enough animals registered to hold a clinic then we would refund your money or hold it until the next month.
This program has proved to be successful for our community and we are proud to be able to offer this low cost alternative. We have seen a drop in puppies and kittens here in the county so we know it is working.
We will continue to register each month at the county library on the second and third Wednesday of each month at the times mentioned above and the clinics will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
We look forward to serving our community for another year. Please do your part in controlling the pet population by having your dog or cat spayed or neutered.
