Last month I competed in the Miss Kentucky USA pageant representing Carroll County. Although I did not walk away with the crown, I had a phenomenal experience. I spent over six months preparing for the pageant, which included working
closely with those in my community. During those six months I received a major outpouring of support from my community, whether it was in Facebook well wishes, sponsorships or kind words, I want Carroll County residents to know that theydid not go unnoticed.
First, I would like to thank my sponsors from the community because, without their support, I would have never had the opportunity to compete. A huge thank you goes out to Herb Kinman Chevrolet, Earl Floyd Ford, Dr. Newcomb Dentist Office, Carrollton Yamaha, Ron’s Barber, The Brock Family, McNeal’s, Monk and Marsh, Koehler Tire, Judy White, The Franklin Family, Belterra Resort and Casino, Craig’s Do-It-Center, Rob and Lori, Carrollton Chamber of Commerce, Wattsy’s House of Iron, Garvin Lewellyn and my parents. Also, thank you to Carroll County Judge-Executive, Harold Tomlinson for allowing me to represent Carroll County in the pageant! It is also necessary to thank all of my family and friends for the support; I really could not have done this without you.
I would also like to thank The News-Democrat, Madison Courier, Round-About Madison, Northern Kentucky University and various news stations across the Ohio Valley for sharing my story as I competed for the title.
Most importantly, I would like to thank the people of Carroll County for all of the Facebook “likes” and kind words. I have never been more proud to represent my county. The wonderful support that was given to me by Carroll County residents, both former and current, made this pageant experience one like no other. I am truly proud to have been raised in Carroll County with such amazing people. Thank you all for sharing in my journey!
