Franklin inducted
Hayley Franklin was inducted in April into the Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society at Northern Kentucky University. To be eligible, a student must be a junior or senior with a 3.5 or higher grade average, and be nominated by an NKU professor or staff member.
She is the daughter of Ben and Crystal Franklin of Carrollton, Ky. She will be a senior at NKU in the fall, majoring in communications and minoring in public relations.
Meder wins contest
Bethany Meder was named the Area 5 winner in the 2010 Jim Claypool Conservation Art Contest. A fifth-grader at Cartmell Elementary School, she received $25 as district winner and $25 as first place school winner, along with a T-shirt and a certificate. As Area 5 winner, she also received $50. Area 5 includes 15 counties.
The Carroll County Conservation District and Carrollton Rotary Club held a banquet on March 3 to honor the winners in both the art and writing contests, which are sponsored by the Kentucky Farm Bureau.
Harr earns master’s
Megan Harr, daughter of Tom and Rosada Harr of Carrollton received her master’s degree in communication disorders from the University of Kentucky on May 8.
Harr is a 2005 graduate of Carroll County High School.
