Carroll County Area Technology Center recently received a grant from Lowe’s to build 10 beds for needy students from Carroll, Gallatin, Owen and Trimble counties who do not have a bed to sleep in. This initiative was inspired by the movie “The Blind Side” and was started in 2009 by Jessica Collins, a 10-year-old student in Shelby County, Mary Stratton, CCATC area supervisor said.
Logan Hanes, a kitchen designer from Lowe’s in Frankfort, recently sent a letter to Stratton praising the students’ work.
