A retirement reception was held for Susie McGee Thursday, Oct. 27, her last day at work as assistant city clerk/treasurer. She worked in that position just short of 17 years. She said what she will miss most about the job is her co-workers. “You become like family,” she said. She plans on spending more time helping her husband, Frank, who is a full-time pastor at North Madison Baptist and visiting with her grandchildren Micah, 6, and Trinity, 11 months.
“I’d like to thank the city for the opportunity I was given,” she said. She also thanked city clerk/treasurer Becky Pyles for training her.
