Tennis battles Trimble, Gallatin on home court

The Carroll County High School tennis teams took on Trimble County (March 13) and Gallatin County  (March 14) at home last week.

The girls defeated the Lady Raiders 3-2. No. 1 singles Lyndie Burns defeated Alex Lawhorn, 7-6 (6), 6-4; No. 2 singles Sarah McArter defeated Elisabeth Moore, 6-3, 6-0; and No. 3 singles Jessi Dermon defeated Ciarra Harmon, 6-1, 6-0.

In No. 1 doubles, Taylor Courtney and Megan Harris lost to Kalee Cook and Micah Hess, 0-6, 0-6. In No. 2 doubles, Kendall Conley and Emilee Walker lost to Diane Payton and Whitney Wingham, 2-6, 2-6.

The Raiders defeated the Panthers, 3-2.

Carroll’s No. 3 singles player Bobby Perkins defeated Damon Husband, 8-3. No. 2 doubles Thomas Hill and Nick Aulbach defeated Austin Dixon and Alex Dixon, 7-5, 6-2.

No. 1 singles Joe Gemmer lost to Damon Copeland, 3-6, 5-7. No. 2 singles Gabe Kates lost to Nick Kleinhenz, 6-7(2), 2-6. No. 1 doubles Dakota Corbin and Noah Abercrombie lost to Reese True and Dylan Stethen, 4-6, 0-6.

Both Carroll County teams won against Gallatin County. The girls won, 5-0, while the boys won, 4-1.
