Track and field competed in NCKCTC

Carroll County senior Devin Gray doubled up in conference championship wins this season with a victory in the 800 meter run at the NCKCTC Thursday, May 3 held in Owen County. This was the Panthers’ last meet before Regionals on May 12.

Senior Andie Hardesty finished 2nd in high jump—behind nationally-ranked Kelsie Courtney of Trimble County—and was part of the 4x400 meter relay team that finished 4th. The other members of the team are Kirsten Arvin, Jenna Richmond and Abigail Miracle.

The girls 4x800 meter relay team of Jenna Richmond, Lauren Moore, Sierra Martinez, and Kirsten Arvin finished 2nd.

Girls results

Andie Hardesty 2nd in high jump and 8th in 300 meter hurdles; Kirsten Arvin, 2nd in triple jump; Cheyenne Long, 6th in shot put; Stevie Ogburn, 7th in 100 meter dash and 8th in 200 meter dash; and Raenah Hawkins, 10th in discus.

The girls 4x100 meter relay team of Stevie Ogburn, Kirsten Arvin, Jessie Smith and Abigail Miracle finished in 4th place.

Boys results

Devin Gray, 1st in 800 meter run and 3rd in 1600 meter run; Dylan Jack, 2nd in high jump, 4th in 110 meter hurdles and 5th in long jump; and Malachi Corbin, 7th in shot put.
