One-lane traffic on bridge briefly Oct. 26

Drivers will be restricted to one lane on the Milton-Madison Bridge from 9-10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26.

The lane closure will allow inspectors from Linebach-Funkhouser Inc. to examine the structure for asbestos in joint-compound materials and sealants between sections of the bridge deck. The company was hired to do the work by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The inspection is required in preparation for construction should federal funding be granted for replacement of the bridge superstructure. News of the federal grant is expected in January.
