Two-vehicle crash in Trimble County kills motorcyclist Aug. 10

A motorcyclist was killed Aug. 10 in a crash on Hwy. 42 in Trimble County.

Dispatchers at Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a call at 7:28 p.m. of a crash between a motorcyle and a truck. Preliminary investigation shows Mark Rexroat, 43, of Bedford was traveling east on Hwy. 42 on his motorcycle. Perry Cook, 49, of Bedford was traveling west on Hwy. 42 in a truck, according to the KSP release.

Cook attempted to make a left turn onto Haven Road and allegedly drove into the path of Rexroat. Rexroat’s motorcyle struck the truck, and he was thrown from the motorcycle.

Rexroat, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Louisville where he later died. Cook was not injured in the crash.

Trooper Dusty Corbin, an accident reconstructionist, is leading the ongoing investigation. Trooper Corbin was assisted at the scene by the Trimble County Sheriff’s Office, Bedford Fire Department, Milton Fire Department, and Trimble County EMS.
