The Carrollton Main Street Program would like to express its most sincere thanks to the volunteers who helped make Carroll County’s Ohio River Sweep 2011 a huge success on Saturday, June 25.
The 146 men, women and children who volunteered picked up more than 20 cubic yards of debris from the banks of the Ohio River.
We would like to say a special thanks to those who helped to make the event happen: North American Stainless, our local corporate sponsor; Dow Corning, who made lunch possible; regional sponsors Gallatin Steel and Kentucky Utilities and the Community Advisory Panel of Arkema and Dow Corning for the weather radios.
Also special thanks to the city of Carrollton and the city public works department, Carroll County Fiscal Court, Carroll County Solid Waste Management, Carroll County Emergency Services, Carroll County Detention Center and inmates, the Carroll County Fair Board and those who provided their boats and equipment.
Congratulations to the winners of the poster contest and to those who won the various prizes. Again, thanks to all who helped in any way to make the event a success. See you again next year.
