On April 2, the Carrollton Woman’s Club met at Pats’ Place on Seminary Street.
Eight members said the pledge to the flag. Co-hostess Carolyn Stout called the meeting to order and introduced the program chairwoman Karen Claiborne. Claiborne introduced the club members to a Jeopardy type game concerning information about the papal election. Members were split into two very competitive teams each picking questions from six categories. They learned a lot and had a fun time learning.
A Ky-Club-Women magazine was passed to the members that had a picture of the new club house bought in Frankfort and now replaces the older home in the Cherokee Triangle area of Louisville.
Members were served refreshments by Nancy Ellis.
Claiborne told of the upcoming state convention being held in the Brown Hotel. She also is serving as state arts chairman and will be taking the local student’s art to the convention.
A brief business meeting was held and the secretary’s minutes were approved and read. Judy Keith gave the treasurer’s report and members adjourned after a reading of the Club Collect. The next meeting will be held May 7.
