Woman’s Club welcomes new Extension agent

-A A +A

The Nov. 1 meeting of the Carrollton Woman’s Club was held at Pat’s Place on Seminary Street.

The program was provided by Grace Angotti, Home Life Chairman.

Angotti brought Christin Herbst, the new agricultural/4H Extension agent who spoke to them about the importance of family and how important her family had been to her. Both her father and grandfather had been Extension agents in Adair County.

Herbst told club members how the death of her grandfather made her realize how important it is to pass on family history and family stories so others will know this information.

Karen Claiborne and Donna Parrish were hostesses at the meeting.

Claiborne, first vice president of the Fifth District, reported on the fall district meeting where she was in charge of the Fifth District Woman’s Club Art Contest.

Mary Ann Carrico-Mitchell won first place with her ceramic tile painting. The painting will go on to the state contest in February.

The December meeting will be held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Pat’s Place and will be catered by Donna Parrish.

The meeting was adjourned after a reading of the Club Collect.
