    Hwy. 127 Corridor Yard Sale. The world’s largest yard sale begins in Addison, Mich., and ends in Gadsden, Ala. This is the 30th anniversary for the event, which travels through local areas including Sparta and Owenton.

    Friday: Aug. 4

    First Friday on the Square from 4-8 p.m. in downtown Carrollton. The event will feature the RiverView Farmers Market, Watermelon Mania and music by Smokin’ Guns. There will be a watermelon seed-spitting contest, watermelon roll and samples, too.

    Friends of Butler presents the Backyard Concert Series at the back lawn of the Historic Butler Turpin House. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. and features Whiskey Bent Valley, a folk and bluegrass band.
