    Boy Scout Troop 131 won the $100 prize for the most members of a group participating in the event.

    Poster contest winners in the kindergarten through third grade category are Reilyn Wineburg, first; Kyleigh Hatton, second; and Kaiyah Browning, third. In the fourth to seventh grade category, Mason Garcia won first; Chloe Young, second; and Arianna Wilson, third. Winners in the eighth-12th grade category are Carmen Simo-Perkins, first; Logan Martin, second; and Lily Young, third.

  • Easy steps to give blood to Red Cross

    The American Red Cross urges eligible donors to give blood this summer for hospital patients in need and offers three easy steps people can take to help save lives.

    • Schedule – Use the free Red Cross Blood Donor and, visit redcross.org or call (800) RED-CROSS or (800) 733-2767 to make an appointment.

    • Prepare – Get a good night’s sleep, eat a nutritious meal and drink extra fluids.

    • Give – The donation process start to finish takes about an hour. The actual donation only takes about 10 minutes.
