  • 4-H/Open horse show

    The Carroll County 4-H/Open Horse Show featured a whole lot of horseplay at the June 8, event at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. The results for the events are as follows:

    Class 2- Open Walk Trot: Dillan Human, first place; Kolt Kinman, second place.

    Class 3- Carroll County 4-H Pole Bending: Call Maiden, first place; Colten Human, second place; Dillan Human, third place.

    Class 5- Open Pole Bending: Michelle Detmer, first place; Houston Lindsay, second place; Call Maiden, third place.

    Carrollton has received a 2016 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 

    Award. Now in its sixth year, the achievement celebrates hospitality 

    businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on the online 

    TripAdvisor site over the past year. To qualify, a business must maintain 

    an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a 

    minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at 

    least 12 months.

  • Stark participated in Circuit Court Clerks Spring conference in Frankfort

    Carroll County Circuit Court Clerk Laman L. Stark participated in the 2016 Circuit Court Clerks Spring Conference on April 19-20, in Frankfort. The Administrative Office of the Courts and the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks provided the education program for the state’s circuit court clerks. The Kentucky Association of Counties hosted the event at its headquarters.

  • Guidelines for riding a motorcycle safely

    •Be visible

    •Remember that motorists often have trouble seeing motorcycles and reacting in time.

    •Make sure your headlights work and are on day and night.

    •Use reflective strips or decals on your clothing and on your motorcycle.

    •Be aware of the blind spots cars and trucks have.

    •Flash your brake light when you are slowing down and before stopping.

    ªIf a motorist doesn’t see you, don’t be afraid to use your horn.

    Families on the Move Walking Club continue, meet every Saturday at 10 a.m. at the library and walk to the River Walk. Count your steps all month long to be eligible for prizes.
