Travis and Mindy Arney of Carrollton, would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Annabelle Catherine Arney, born at 3:26 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Baptist East. She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 19 ½ inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Gary & Cathy Greer of Crestwood, and paternal grandparents are LB & Kim Arney of Ghent. Great grandparents are Margie Greer of Shelbyville and the late Charles and Kathy Webster.
Pioneer Power Tractor Club celebrated the heritage of farming at its 10th annual show in Carrollton Saturday, May 12. The three-day family event puts the spotlight on antique tractors, but also features family fun, music, demostrations and farm animals
Three Rivers Gun Club, 3041 Hwy 55 in Carrollton is sponsoring a Shotgun Shoot, (50 clay targets), Sunday, June 3, 2012, starting at 2 p.m. Cost is $15 for 50 targets or Three River Member cost is $10. Tied score at end of regulation 50 targets will result in a 10 shot shoot off to determine the winners. Prizes: high shooter gets return of entry fee or $1 for each shooter whichever is greater. The Paragon Arts and Music Academy will host its annual Recital and Art Showcase on Saturday, May 19. The event is free and open to the public. The dance recital is 2-4 p.m. and the music recital from 6-8 p.m. The art gallery will be open all day.
The Carroll County High School Chorus will present a Spring Choral Concert on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at Cartmell Elementary School. A variety of songs will be performed that include “Fire and Rain,” “An American Tribute,” “Africa,” and “For Good.”
Following the concert, awards will be presented by director, Mary Ellis Coombs. Refreshments will also be served. The concert is free and open to the public.
A poker run in memory of Mike Gividen will be held Saturday, June 2, with a rain date of June 9. The event starts and ends at Herb Kinman Chevrolet in Carrollton. Starting time is noon. Cost is $20 per hand, and $5 for each extra hand. Prize for the winning hand is $100. There will be a split-the-pot drawing.
