    The Fall Brawl Demo  Derby had 43 cars Friday, Oct. 23 and 57 cars Saturday, Oct. 24.

    There were extremes in the weather as Friday was dusty and Saturday was rain and mud. Carroll Co. Fair Board hosted the event.

  • Carroll County Public Library Calendar | Oct. 29, 2015

    In November and December, patrons can help the library give to one of three local charities while paying off fines.

    From Nov. 1-14, the library will accept canned dog food for the Carroll County Animal Support Group. From Nov. 16-30 they will accept diapers and baby wipes for the Haven of Hope. From Dec. 1-19 they will accept toothpaste and toothbrushes, women’s deodorant and laundry detergent for the NKY Community Action Center of Carroll County.   • Attendance at training qualifies families for Christmas assistance

    Relatives Raising Relatives will be held Monday, Nov. 2, at the second floor courtroom at the Carroll County courthouse.

    Learn about great programs that can benefit you and/or  the children you are raising. This also is the perfect time to have questions answered and is the place to pick up some great resources.

    By attending this special training, participants will qualify to receive Christmas assistance for the minors you are caring for.

  • Non-profit offers Medicare enrollment help

    It is that time of year again for Medicare Open Enrollment, and time for people to review their Medicare options for next year. 

    Angela Zeek, SHIP Coordinator with Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, said there is a growing trend for people to want to keep their current coverage this year, which could be a costly decision. 

    Some Medicare prescription drug premiums have increased as much as 200 percent and can cost about $100 a month. 

  • Turkey shoots in November

    Happy Hollow Resort and Gibson Farm Fun Days will offer the Annual Turkey Shoot in the Hollow, under new management, 2 p.m. all Sundays in November at the Happy Hollow Resort off Hwy 227 in Worthville. They will also have Meat and Money Shoots, Scatterboards, Wal-Mart Gift card Giveaway and more. No alcoholic beverage allowed. For more information call (502) 525-4844.
