As I write this column, it has been the most incredible day and there is more to come tomorrow.
First, we went to our grandson’s ballgame in Villa Hills, Ky., which is always such fun. Those fellas are so little and cute. Of course, it was cloudy and rainy, but we managed to get through the complete game.
I also had the pleasure of giving my grandmother’s china to my daughter. Grandmother gave the china, and Mother gave the china to me. Now it was time for me to pass it on.
Billie Ann Jewell of Willisburg, Ky. and Donnie Ray Cannon of Worthville, Ky. announce their forthcoming marriage. The wedding will at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Wheatley Community Center. A reception will follow.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Archie and Stella Gordy. She is the mother of Frances, Bobbie Jo and Cody Ray.
The groom-elect is the son of Rachel Cannon and the late Ancil Cannon. Friends and family are invited to attend.
Port William Historical Society will hold its first annual Mother-Daughter Tea on Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 8 from 2-6 p.m. at the Masterson House on U.S. 42 (across from Arkema). Cost is $15 per mother and daughter and $5 per additional daughter.
Those attending should pay at the door.
I certainly do enjoy being a grandparent. We have had the greatest time in the past month spending time with all five of our grandchildren.
Since four of them live in Georgia, we don’t get to see them as often as we like. This year they were able to visit us at our Florida condo while on spring break, along with their parents. The other grandchild was also on break in Florida, but at Disney World, so we went for the day and had a great time.
