Angela Franklin of Carrollton has been appointed as the new agency manager with Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance at the Carroll County Agency. She became an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau in January 2009 and was named the 2011 District 3 “Agent of the Year” and the 2012 District 6 “Agent of the Year” for Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance. Franklin was previously an agent in the Oldham County–Goshen Agency. She and her husband, Chad, have two children, Taylor and Seth.
Jesse and Amy Saggus of Carrollton announce the birth of their daughter, Ava Jaye Saggus, born Friday, April 5, 2013, at 6:46 p.m. at Kings Daughter’s Hospital in Madison, Ind. She weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Also welcoming her home was 3-year-old big brother, Connor Lee Saggus.
Maternal grandparents are Donnie and Maggie Ball of Carrollton. Maternal great grandparents are Harriett Sharp Johnson of Carrollton and the late Owen “Billie” Sharp.
We all seem to hear it enough as it is, especially when our children are out of school for the summer. Boredom is the ultimate test of our character. We all want to be satiated with enjoyment. We want fun and we want new experiences. Let’s face it, boredom can set in at anytime and it can last a long time.

Members of the Caby M. Froman Club and their guests gathered at noon Friday, June 7, at the Harmony Landing Country Club of Goshen, Ky., for the club’s annual June luncheon.
President Sandra Thomas welcomed those in attendance with her reading of “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. The group then joined in singing “My Old Kentucky Home.” Special music followed with Mary Ellis Combs singing “Summertime.” Sue Scott offered the blessing.
