Col. Brent McManis recently retired after 30 years of service with the US Air Force and the Air National Guard. Col McManis’ recent assignment was as Commander of the 145th Combat Operations Group (COG) of the North Carolina Air National Guard. The 145th COG, based in New London, NC, consists of four squadrons that provide Expeditionary Communications, Air Traffic Control, Weather Forecasting, and Tactical Air Control for Army ground commanders.
Carrollton Main Street Program’s First Friday event July 1, drew a crowd on the courthouse lawn. The event featured Just Us (below), as well as the RiverView Farmers Market, the Carrollton’s Hottest Dog contest and local author Bill Chapman, as well as games and giveaways. The next First Friday will be held Aug. 5.
