  • Chamber sponsors leadership event

    Community business leaders can access the knowledge and experience of 11 internationally acclaimed leaders by attending the Chick-fil-A Leadercast at Family Worship Center in Carrollton on May 6.
    The Chick-fil-A Leadercast is a one-day leadership training event broadcast live from Atlanta, Ga. to hundreds of sites throughout the nation, including Carrollton. Speakers for the event include:

  • Woman’s club holds March meeting

    The Carrollton Woman’s Club met Tuesday, March 1, at the Carroll County Extension Office. Members enjoyed a pot-luck dinner and held the group’s annual business meeting.
    Hostess Nancy Jo Grobmyer opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Nancy Ellis gave the blessing.
    Grobmyer presided at the business meeting; eight members were present.

  • Landa demonstrates making 3-D Jell-O art

    On Tuesday, Feb. 22, Veronica Landa, an adult education/English as a Second Language student at Jefferson Community and Technical College, demonstrated how to make three-dimensional Jell-O at the Carroll County Public Library.

  • Picking the right recipes make preparation easy

    I am planning a brunch for about 50 friends to be held in about a month. I am working on my menu now, trying to decide just what to have from the hours of 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

    I want it to be very simple, but really nice. I don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking and I also want some simple things that friends can help me prepare because I don’t want them to have to work too hard.

  • Underwood receives environmental stewardship award

    Patrick Underwood, Gallatin Steel’s Environmental Process Coordinator, has been recognized by the Steel Manufacturers Association for his personal and professional commitment to promoting environmental education and responsibility.  Underwood will be receiving the SMA’s Environmental Excellence Award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. May 10 during the Annual Members Conference. 

  • Contact Health Dept. before renting campsites

    Three Rivers District Health Department would like to remind anyone planning to rent campsites or open a campground in coordination with any event including, but not limited to, the upcoming Sprint Cup NASCAR race in Sparta this July, must contact the local Health Department for proper guidelines and permitting.  A permit is required to operate any campground used to rent spaces for two or more Motorhomes, RVs, and all Camping Units as per 902 KAR 15020.  Any questions, you may call 502-484-3412 and speak with Justin Pittman, Environmental Health Program Manager.
