One of the things that I love about the library staff is that many of them have worked here for 15 or more years. They remember the 6,000 square foot facility, weathered the temporary library while building construction was going on and have helped us grow into our “new” facility.

Doris and Bernie Watkins of Owenton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday, Jan. 9, at the General Butler State Resort Park Conference Center, in Carrollton, given by their niece and nephews, George, Teresa, Ed and Larry Heitzman.
Among the 100 guests was Mildred Bosley, the 102-year-old mother of the bride.
Doris and Bernie were married at St. Bernard’s Church in Dayton, Ky. on Jan. 8, 1966.
