Misty Kinman’s Bear Den scouts recently built two Cub Mobiles and then raced them downhill in the parking lot in front of the Butler-Turpin House. A Cub Mobile is made up of a seat, four wheels and two wooden axles. The rider steers with a rope connected to the front axle–safety blocks keep him from turning too much–and stops by pulling a simple friction brake that drags on the ground.
Ana Jimenez-Luttrell and Cody Peters announce the birth of their son, Lincoln Charles Peters, born Saturday, March 28, 2015, at King’s Daughters Hospital in Madison, Ind. He weighed six pounds and eight and a half ounces and was 21 inches long.
His grandparents are Damian and Cara Jimenez of Carrollton, Kentucky and Charles and Vicky Peters of Vevay, Ind.
Republican candidate for Kentucky Secretary of State Ryan Quarles and Candidate for Kentucky Attorney General Whitney Westerfield are scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. at the community room at 1208 Highland Ave. Everyone is welcome to hear the future plans these candidates have for the respective statewide offices.

RiverRunArtGallery, 449 Main St., in Carrollton is offering a lunch and learn every Friday at noon in April. Participants are invited to bring a lunch if they choose and watch as Sharon Graves, local artist and gallery owner teaches them about painting. Classes are free. There will be no lunch and learn on Friday, April 24.
