  • VF fashion show raises funds for breast cancer awareness, research
  • Kathryn Winn hosts Fall Family Fun 3K Oct. 17

    It’s that time of year again for the Kathryn Winn Primary annual fall festival. But this year, it will be a little different than in past years.

    The school will be having its first “Sharpen the Saw” Fall Family Fun 3K Saturday, Oct. 17 at Robert Westrick Memorial Park.

    Registration will be at 11 a.m., and the walk will be anytime between 12-2 p.m.

    Registration is the day of the event and is $5 per child/adult. The first 100 children to register will receive a goodie bag.

  • Woofstock fundraiser returns to General Butler Saturday

    Bring your family – two-legged and four-legged – for a day of fun Woof at General Butler State Resort Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015. All proceeds benefit Carroll County Animal Support.

    Skybound Canine Entertainment will give three shows during the day. Five-time World Champion Frisbee freestyle dog trainer Todd Duncan and his dogs will perform acrobatic tricks and amazing Frisbee footwork.

  • Blackburn takes home top ribbons at competition

    Baily Blackburn, a freshman at Carroll County High School, competed in the National Pleasure Equitation Olympics and the National United Professional Horseman’s Association competitions in Indianapolis on Sept. 11-12. Both horse shows were national competitions featuring the highest ranking riders from across the country. Baily came home with top ribbons, placing in the top five in the Olympics and in the top ten in UPHA.

  • Beverly/Bruce reunion will be held Sept. 27

    The Beverly/Bruce reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Lockport Methodist Church. The potluck lunch will start around 1 p.m. All family and friends are invited. For more information call Wanda Browning (502) 930-8103.

  • Leadingham, Wheeler recognized at CCRTA

    The Carroll County Retired Teachers Association  met on Sept. 18, at the Relevant Church gym with 16 members present. The group enjoyed a luncheon that was prepared by Cassandra McBurney to honor the new retirees, Leigh Leadingham and Cindy Wheeler. The proceeds from the luncheon will go to the scholarship fund.

    The minutes from the last meeting were read by secretary Donna Wallace, and they were approved. The treasurer’s report was given and approved.
