  • Food distribution Aug. 14; planning meeting July 29

    Feed the Children and Speedway Children’s Charities will host a free food distribution event Aug. 14 at Carroll County High School. Volunteers will need to be on site at 8 a.m. to unload the truck. A meeting for volunteers will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at First Baptist Church in Carrollton.
    Eligible families will receive vouchers from Carroll County Schools for food, and pick up will be held from 10 a.m.-noon at the high school parking lot near the athletics fields. Signs will be posted to help direct traffic, which will enter from Hwy. 227.

    Carroll County Public Library invites area youngsters to come learn about Willy Shakespeare, while they enjoy real theater training — and funny accents. Share the spotlight with fellow actors and perform for friends and family.

    Camp Shakespeare fosters an appreciation of the words and works of William Shakespeare by providing opportunities to explore the theater arts through imaginative play, visual arts, movement, storytelling, design, text analysis, and more.

  • CCHS graduates of 1978, 1979 plan joint reunion Sept. 20 at Camp Kysoc

    The Carroll County High School classes of 1978 and 1979 are making plans for a joint reunion on Sept. 20, 2014 at Camp Kysoc, Carrollton, Ky.

    Reunion details and events leading up to the reunion can be found on a community Facebook page titled “Carroll County Class of 1978 & 1979 Class Reunion,” plus hard copy registration information will be will be mailed to graduates.

    Did you miss the enrollment deadline for health insurance?

    Kynect, Kentucky’s health insurance marketplace, will have open sign up at the Carroll County Public Library every other Monday from 3-6 p.m., starting July 14. Submit an eligibility application — you may qualify for a no-cost insurance plan or a special enrollment period. Personnel will be on hand to help those attending apply for kynect at the library, or call (502) 536-0190.
