  • CAC sets its holiday sale for Dec. 1-2

    On Monday Dec. 1, and Tuesday, Dec. 2, Christian Academy of Carrollton will hold its annual Christmas sale in the school’s gym.

    The event will be open to the public from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, and 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday. They have items for everyone; jewelry, nutcrackers, Christmas décor and more. For information call (502) 732-4734.

  • Chandler completes Army basic training

    Army Pvt. Leah N. Chandler has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

    During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

  • Lindsay earn’s Navy’s highest honor with selection to ceremonial guard

    Selection to the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard is one of the highest honors bestowed upon seamen graduating from boot camp.

    Seaman Daniel Lindsay, a 2013 Carroll County graduate, was selected to be a member of the United States Navy Ceremonial Guard.

  • Froman club discusses Bible, Audubon

    The November meeting of the Caby M. Froman Club was held at General Butler State Park.  Mrs. Pam Froman was the hostess for the meeting.

    The tables were decorated in beautiful thanksgiving figurines, fall leaves and flowers.  Individual floral arrangements were gifts for the members.

    President Sandra Thomas read “We Are Grateful,” by Margaret McGovern.  Mrs. Thomas, also gave a talk on the history of Thanksgiving.
