    NEW EVENTS/PROGRAMMING

    July 28: Summer Reading Program finale will be a Field Day at Point Park, begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner served, prizes and reading bags will be given.

    July 29: Camp Shakespeare, “Romeo and Juliet,” a performance will be held at 3 p.m. for family and friends of the Shakespeare campers

    July 30: Retro Track and Field Video Game Day, compete in your favorite track and field events while staying cool with these retro video games. All ages welcome, 2 p.m.

  • Carroll participates in state Sheriffs’ Ranch

    The Kentucky Sheriffs’ Boys & Girls Ranch opened to campers for its 41st season June 12, and runs through June and July, serving boys and girls on alternate weeks.

    The ranch is a non-profit organization, serving Kentucky’s youth through a camping program designed to build self-esteem, while teaching them respect for themselves, others and law enforcement professionals. Camp is free to campers, thanks to the dedication and support of the sheriffs, members and contributors. 

  • Eatin’ and Movin’

    Carroll County Extension hosted “Eatin’ and Movin’ at the Carroll County Public Library July 14. The children learned about nutrition and danced to burn off some calories. The program was a part of the library’s Summer Reading Program.

  • Signature Health Care of Carrollton launches Reflect N’ Us art contest

    The Signature Nation Signature of Carrollton is proud to announce the launch of Reflect N’ Us, a virtual gallery of art created by the residents. Reflect N’ Us is a great opportunity for elders to be able to share their beautiful pieces of artwork with the world, according to the news release. Some of the categories include drawings, paintings, jewelry and photography. Many different forms of media have been used by the residents, such as oil and water color paintings, charcoal, ink, chalk, pencil and clay.

    July 22: Campfire Stories with Chris Rumble at Prestonville City Park, 10:30 a.m., SRP events around the neighborhood begin at 10:30 a.m. with lunch provided after the show!

    July 23: Family Movie, “Kung Fu Panda 3” at 2 p.m.

    July 25: Fourth Monday Book Group, “The Red Notebook” by Antoine Laurain, will be discussed at noon.
