  • Carlisle, King to wed July 19

    Mr. and Mrs. Doug Carlisle of Carrollton announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Hilary Megan to Scot W. King.

    The bride is a 2004 graduate of Carroll County High School, a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture with a Bachelor in Animal Sciences and a 2012 graduate of Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She is a veterinarian for Georgetown Veterinary Clinic in Georgetown, Ind.

  • Lipe wins top U.S. Bank award

    Matthew Lipe, U.S. Bank branch manager in Carrollton has won U.S. Bank’s Annual Pinnacle Award, the company’s highest employee achievement honor.

    Lipe was among the top 10 percent of top performing employees nationwide to win U.S. Bank’s award for outstanding achievement and superior performance and was recently recognized at a company dinner.

  • ‘Life Conversations’ focus of June 13 panel discussion

    Hospice of the Bluegrass holds a program called “Life Conversations…Around the Kitchen Table” at 5 p.m. Friday, June 13 at First National Bank in Carrollton.

    The program will present information on end-of-life planning that includes details on how this can affect everyone, why it’s important to have a good plan and how to make it a peaceful experience.

  • Family welcomes baby daughter | Mariah Danielle Martin

    Bobbie and Richard Martin of Carrollton announce the birth of their daughter, Mariah Danielle Martin, born Monday, April 28, 2014, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She weighed 5 pounds and 8 ounces and was 17.5 inches long.

    Her big sister and brother, Brittany and Kaleb Martin, helped welcome her home.

    Maternal grandparents are Thelma and Robert Dixon of Carrollton; maternal great-grandparents were the late Patricia Martin, the late Robert Mathew Barnes and the late Fannie and Perry Dixon.

  • Wright, Shirley to wed June 21

    Darrell and Debbie Wright of Sanders announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mollie Darrah Wright, to Ryan Douglas Shirley, son of Suann McGuire and Bryan Shirley of Warsaw.

    The bride to be is a 2013 graduate of the University of Kentucky and is a teacher at Carroll County High School. 

    The groom elect is a 2009 graduate of Gallatin County High School and is employed by Heritage Environmental.
