  • 2015 Raker Family Reunion

    The Raker reunion picnic will be held Saturday, July 25, at the American Legion shelter on Jefferson Avenue in Madison, Ind.

    All descendants of Ernst and Mary E. Buscher Raker, and related families, (Strautmann, Dieckmann, Titkemeyer, Obertate, Bulthaup, Thieman and more) are invited to attend.

    Plan to come early, about 11 a.m., and be ready to eat at 12:30 p.m.

    The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky celebrated their 133rd annual convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville on June 17-19. The convention was well attended by funeral directors, suppliers and their families.

    Robbie Brantley of Brownsville was elected President of the Association. Rob Riley of Carrollton was elected sergeant-at-arms.

  • Bon Worth hosts canned food drive

    Bon Worth, located at the Vanity Fair Outlet Mall in Carrollton is having a  “Christmas in July” canned food drive. “Share the warmth of giving” by bringing in non-perishable food items from July 7-12, to the store in Carrollton. Bon Worth will be offering a discount to customers who participate. The donated food will be given to the Carroll County Food Pantry.

  • Fireworks, day of festivities, set for Point Park Saturday

    The city of Carrollton is hosting its annual Fourth of July Celebration on July 4, at Point Park. The event is co-sponsored by Carroll County Fiscal Court and Carrollton/Carroll County Tourism.

    The firework show, provided by Vito’s Fireworks of Covington, will begin at 10 p.m. The show will include a firework fountain and a display resembling the American flag.
