On March 14, the city of Ghent was visited by Christie Taylor and her teen-age son Frank, of Houston, Texas, who were in the area to research the life of her great-grandmother Claudia McCann Walne, a Ghent native who was for many years a Baptist Missionary to Japan. She was the daughter of John J. and Nancy O’Neal McCann of Ghent.
The Carrollton Waffle House held a balloon release in memory of employee Amy Johnson Perkins on March 16. Perkins died in a car accident on March 10. She will be missed dearly by her fellow co-workers and family members who loved her very much.
Carroll Circuit and District Courts, located in the William L. Wheeler Hall of Justice building, 802 Clay Street in Carrollton will close at 11:45 a.m., Good Friday, March 29.
